Bravo Team Modern Series U.S. Marine Sgt. Frank Segura

2007 unimax "Bravo Team" USMC figure from "Modern Series" line.

Between "modern series" US marines and US army, there were a total of 12 figures. And they shared body construction and accessories.

Included items. US Marine "Frank Segura" here and US Army "Capt. Drew Masters" shared the exact same mold with different camo colors and accessories.

Included accessories.

Figure: "U.S. Marine Sgt. Frank Segura". Sadly, no screw on its back to customize with Hasbro´s G.I.Joe figures.

Included Mk.19 Automatic grenade launcher, infantry configuration.

This toy/model is what I think to be the drawn line which toys shouldn´t cross. This is a fine piece and strong enough to be at the hands of a child and still manage to survive... some time. "Arms disengaged can be reinstalled to the joints". As legs, feet and head.

Bravo Team U.S. marine Cpl. Mitch Hagerland

With a totally different head sculpt , this SAW gunner  is prepared for mine fields.

Uses "Bravo Team U.S. Army Cpl. Bret Heinrich" body mold (except for the head) and all his tools of the trade.

Color scheme is different than the Army counterpart.

Included accessories.

Plus points for the different head...

...minus for its sculpting. Could look a little better. But still great. Not a doubt.

Using a sort of mold-mix, Unimax created a line of fully-articulated near-model action figures.

Included items for this package.

Included accessories.

Figure: "U.S. Army Capt. Drew Masters". Reuse of Frank Segura´s entire body mold.

Action shot: manning the 30 cal.

Bravo Team U.S. Army Cpl. Bret Heinrich

Not just another Bravo Team soldier, because these figures are just too cool.

A curious detail: The U.S. flag on the figure´s shoulder was flipped horizontally.

Included items.

Included accessories.

Figure: "Cpl. Bret Heinrich". Great camo, great details. Just enough of them. Too much detail makes a model, not a toy.

Action shots with included accessories. The detail I found most peculiar and very well done: The holstered pistol. The figure can actually grab the butt, but it does not come out.

Forces of Valor Bravo Team U.S. M1A1 Abrams - Update!

Another "Bravo Team" item, and yet never "just another" toy. This Hong Kong company M1A1 Abrams is, for some reasons, one of the most impressive tanks I was ever given the chance to review.

First off, it´s the sheer size of this thing. We´re used to see "Abrams" toy adaptations here and there, and you can see some of them here at JoMiToys, but other than 1:18 models, never something this big for 3.75" action figures. And this takes me directly to the 2nd reason. It´s a toy. Meant to be a toy but like they say "created with the military enthusiast in mind". A toy/model and not the other way around. And it looks great!

NATO colors, this model has a variation in "desert tan" camo. Much like the pair of M3A2 Bradleys this "Forces Of Valor" line packs.

Actions include revolving turret, opening hatches (commander/gunner side and loader), working treads and moving/removable machine guns.

Every angle you look at it, you have the feel of a real "armored beast". The front shot is almost scary. I "pity the fool" who has to see these in battle as enemies.

Detail shots. Top right picture showing the driver´s seat. Hatch does not open. A shame, and perhaps this MBT deserved it, but I´m not complaining.

More detail shots showing the hatches closed and opened. Tread/wheels impressive detail and M256 120 mm gun. The detail is amazing. However, fortunately well inside the boundaries of toys. You can see it as a spectacular toy and not as a "fair" model. There´s still room for improvement and customizing.

Scale shots. This thing is a mammoth... well... just like the actual thing. Heavy and ready for battle. Absolutely great piece of work.

Forces Of Valor 1:18 Scale Bravo Team figures

Intentionally crafted as models/action figures, these are a whole new ball game.

Also and before anything else, an "honorable mention" to our senior team member, heart and soul of this project, Jo... not only brings many of these wonderful items we get to review here, lately one of the most effective "treasure hunters". Savior of this toy-review addict!

I keep talking about how toys are nowadays getting further away from their basic purpose of "play", however, and like stated above, these are "grown" models to the point of action. Deliberately so.

Pictured, the 2 marines "Cpl. Mitch Hargerland" and "Sgt. Frank Segura" and army "Capt. Drew Masters" and "Cpl. Bret Heinrich". There are a total of 12 different action figures (although some share their head sculpts, weapons and body parts) from the 2 branches of U.S. military: Army and Marines.

As you can observe, the detail is secured and the weapons are interesting. Articulation is satisfactory to say the least. Painting is awesome.

I could say this over and over, and from some points of view, on a daily basis, but I rather keep this next expression for really "cool as ice" items. DO NOT miss our next post. Tomorrow, same channel... same time. You won´t regret it. If you ever regret coming here!
